Cuba's Fidel Castro Meets Uruguayan President


(RTTNews) - Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro met Thursday with Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez, who arrived in Cuba for a four-day visit - the first by a Uruguayan Head of State to the island since the revolution.

The distinguished visitor, who also is an oncologist, told reporters Castro looked "very good, in very good spirits, very good intellectually" and the worst of his health crisis seemed to be over..........

Uruguay president says Fidel Castro lucid, in good spirits

HAVANA --
Uruguayan president Tabar&acutee; Vázquez says he found Fidel Castro to be lucid and in good spirits during a meeting in Cuba.

Vazquez, a doctor by training, is on an official visit to the Caribbean nation. He says Castro appeared to be ''very well'' on Thursday and the worst of his health crisis seemed to be over.

The ailing 81-year-old Castro stepped down as Cuba's president for health reasons in February. He has not been seen in public for nearly two years.......
